Welling v Thurrock
WELLING manager Adrian Pennock has launched a scathing attack on Che Stadhart after the forward left the club this week.
Pennock has revealed that Stadhart left after he expressed his disappointment following Monday night's training session at not playing in a striker's role.
Stadhart has been used mainly in midfield during the current campaign but registered just seven goals in 35 appearances.
Pennock said: "Che told me this week that he wasn't happy playing in midfield. He said that he wasn't enjoying his football even though we were winning games.
"I only want players here that want to do well for Welling and Che has let me and his team-mates down. It has put me in an awkward position as there are not many players available that I can go and replace him with."
Ironically, Stadhart has been linked with a move to Thurrock, who Welling play in Conference South at Gravesend's Stonebridge Road tonight.
Pennock has moved to sign Hector Mackie on loan from Stevenage and defender Matt Fish from Crystal Palace. However, both players are unavailable for the Thurrock clash.
Andrew Sam is still ruled out through injury but youth-team striker Gabriel Odunaike is in the squad.
Victory will move the Wings up to fourth place, level on points and still with a game in hand on third-place Havant.
Pennock added: "We were disappointed with the defeat at Braintree, especially the first half.
"It's a big game for us but we need to cut out the errors that we made on Tuesday night."
