Anxious Curbs still unfulfilled

CURBISHLEY: "...we're looking at a couple of options"

MANAGER Alan Curbishley has confirmed that he intends bolstering Charlton's squad with two more signings before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.

Offers have been made and Curbishley said: "The clubs know we want them and we're just waiting.

"We're in a position to do some business and we're looking at a couple of options. It depends on the club, not us.

"If the club does a bit of business then they may let out a player we want. It's a bit like the housing market where there's a bit of a chain going on and you need something to happen to get things going."

Charlton have been repeatedly linked with Everton's 27-year-old London-born striker Marcus Bent, another Ipswich old boy.

However, an injury to James Beattie could scupper any move. Marcus and Charlton's Darren Bent are not related.
