A THIRD clash between Chatham boxer Johnny Armour and Francis Ampofo is definitely a possibility.
Armour, the WBU Bantamweight champion, has revealed that Ampofo's camp and Sky Sports are clambering for another re-match - and if the purse is right he could be interested.
In the immediate aftermath of the fight, Armour and his manager Terry Toole said that a third clash with Ampofo was "not on the agenda".
But Armour was stung by criticism from Sky pundits and other commentators who said he should have lost his title when the pair met in Dagenham on May 11. Armour says he would relish the chance to set the record straight and is back in training and could fight again, whoever the opponent may be, on July 27.
He said: "Sky Sports are screaming for us to get it on again and my manager has said that if the money is right there might be a possibility, but we'll have to see how it goes.
"In the last fight I felt weak because I had to lose the weight quickly. I really didn't feel good and I know I can do a lot better.
Since the fight all the criticism has done my head in and if the chance came along to beat him, and beat him in style, came along I would take it.
"I know I won the fight and I want to beat him so convincingly that no one is in any doubt who is the champion."
Armour has been in the gym for the past couple of weeks working on his arms and shoulders and improving his punching power.
His sponsor, Ron Wood of Ron Wood Haulage, has hired a dietician so the 33-year-old can keep his weight down and avoid having to "dry out" in the days leading up to the fight.
"If I have him lying on the floor then there'll be no question who is the stronger fighter," he added.
