CHATHAM’S Johnny Armour will defend his WBU bantamweight title at York Hall in Bethnal Green on March 8.

Although an opponent has yet to be announced, his team are working hard and the match should be finalised in the next couple of days.

Armour last fought on September 21 but broke his left hand and will only resume full training next Monday. He said: “It'll be good to get back in there again.

"I don't know who I’ll be up against but it's a firm date and I'm ready to take on anyone. But the fight I want is Johnny Bredahl for the WBA title.

“It would be a big money fight for a bigger title and it would put me well up in the American ranks.”

Armour also announced he has a new sponsor in the shape of Rochester’s Veena Leisure.
