OLIVER FREEMAN, from Smarden, near Ashford, has won the world duathlon championship Under-20 title in Geel in Belgium.
The Great Britain athlete dominate from start to finish to make it a remarkable double for the Freeman family.
Olly’s sister, Henrietta, has also won the world duathlon crown with Henny winning it in Rimini in Italy in 2001.
After a strong first 5km run Olly and his GB temmate Will Clarke were able to break away on the 20km bike ride through the twisting cobbled streets and out into the countryside.
The two started the final 2.5km run almost 40 seconds ahead of the chasing pack and Olly immediately took the lead finishing 19 seconds ahead of his British rival.
It is another honour for the talented 18-year-old triathlete who recently claimed the silver medal in the Under-20 world trathlon championships at Funchal, Madeira.
It continues a run of top podium places for the A level student having also won silver at last year’s duathlon championships and another bronze in the European triathlon championships.
