THE case of banned Gillingham supporter Alan Liptrott has been referred to the Government-backed Independent Football Commission.
Mr Liptrott, former chairman of the Gills Independent Supporters' Club, has been excluded from Priestfield for life after refusing to sell chairman Paul Scally his website domain name.
Mark Agate, secretary of both the recently formed Football Supporters' Federation and the Gills Independent Supporters' Club, has confirmed that all papers relevant to the case had been passed to the IFC.
"I know that Paul Scally has stated repeatedly that Alan will never be allowed back in the ground all the time he is running the club, but it is nevertheless important that as many people as possible in the game are made aware of his case," said Mr Agate.
"I am repeatedly asked by people in the game what is happening about the Alan Liptrott situation so it's important the IFC are brought up to date and the fact that Paul Scally has yet to provide proof of the allegations made against Alan.
"There is also the fact that Paul Scally has publicly stated that he will shred any further correspondence from the Gills Independent Supporters' Club regarding the matter."
The Independent Football Commission was born out of David Mellor's Football Task Force. Government financed, it is a body created to monitor how the game is run.
