Striker Andy Barcham could be preparing for his last game in a Gillingham shirt unless manager Mark Stimson’s negotiations this week pay off.
Barcham, 22, is currently on loan from Tottenham but that deal expires after Boxing Day’s trip to Dagenham and Stimson is hoping to make the in-form forward a permanent acquisition.
Negotiations between Barcham, his agent and his father took place on Tuesday after a deal, possibly for three years, was put on the table.
Stimson said: “The player has a lot of potential to play at a higher level and with his age as well it could be a real scoop for the club.
“The kid is happy here and he’s playing the type of football that suits him. It’s now down to him.”
