Forward Andy Barcham is set to stay at Gillingham for the rest of the season after the two clubs agreed a new loan deal.

Barcham's current spell ran out after the Boxing Day defeat at Dagenham but now the 22-year-old will stay at Priestfield until the end of the current campaign.

The new loan spell will start when the January transfer window opens. It means Barcham misses the home game with Wycombe on Sunday but can play against Aston Villa in the FA Cup on January 4.

Gillingham boss Mark Stimson said: "Andy will stay with us until the end of the season which is great news.

"I'm very pleased because as we've seen he can be an asset to us if we give him the ball. He always puts in a good shift and that's exactly what you need if you are going to be successful at this level."
