GILLINGHAM are likely to be without goalkeeper Vince Bartram until Christmas after he suffered a double wrist fracture late in Saturday's 4-3 win over Millwall.
Luckless Bartram, who was making his first senior appearance since April 19, sustained the injury in a collision with opposite number Tony Warner who had come up for a corner. He underwent surgery on Monday.
By coincidence, Gillingham had 24 hours earlier signed a third goalkeeper in 22-year-old Bertrand Bossu who impressed on his debut for the reserves in midweek. The 6ft 5in Frenchman had been playing for Ryman League, Premier Division Hayes and been attracting interest from French Division 2 clubs until signing a two-year deal.
He is likely to be on the bench at Cardiff on Saturday when first choice goalkeeper Jason Brown returns from international duty with the Wales Under-21 side.
Meanwhile, Gillingham have announced the appointment of Jonathan Eves as groundsman successor to long-serving Billy Wood who left Priestfield earlier this year. Eves formerly worked for Tottenham.
