Kent Spitfires v Surrey Brown Caps
KENT players are licking their lips at the thought of taking on Surrey at Beckenham tonight - they regard Worsley Road as among the best one-day wickets they play on all season.
With pace and bounce in abundance, the pitches have bowlers and batsmen alike salivating in expectation, so the chances are the game will prove a thrilling affair.
Having suffered a rare defeat to Essex on Thursday night, Surrey will be keen to get back on track for qualification in the match that gets underway at 5.30pm.
Rob Key, who missed Kent's games at Uxbridge and Chelmsford with a slight hamstring strain, will be keen to play on what is literally his home ground – the venue is barely 300-yards from his parents' home.
The conditions will also suit Spitfires' new signing Morne Morkel, the 22-year-old South African who has the capability to send it down at over 90mph.
Advance ticket sales have been good, so officials are recommending supporters get to the ground eralty in a bid to avoid congestion. The gates open at 3pm.
