CHARLTON and England international striker Darren Bent was non-commital regarding his future when he arrived in Medway on Tuesday to open a new sports complex at Gillingham's Woodlands Primary School.

The Addicks 23-year-old leading scorer is expected to be the subject of a multi-million summer move with My dream would be to stay at Charlton, All he would say was: "My dream would be to stay at Charlton, but who knows what will happen. I'm going away on holiday and I'll see what develops on my return."

Charlton's relegation from the Premier League makes it almost certain that their most valuable playing asset will move on to further his international ambitions.

The club this week prepared for life without Bent with the £2.5 million signing of Crewe top-scorer Luke Varney and Colchester's 18-goal striker Chris Iwelumo on a free transfer.
