GILLINGHAM manager Ronnie Jepson has not been able to bring any more new faces to the club but has not ruled out Gary Mulligan returning to Priestfield.

The Ireland under-21 striker made himself popular during his loan spell from Sheffield United but the deal was cut short when he was stretchered off at Doncaster on February 18.

With his ankle ligament injury expected to take three weeks to heal, taking him past the one-month deal deadline, many thought his association with the Gills had ended.

But Jepson said: "I spoke with the lad and he’s positive and doing well. He said he enjoyed his time here. It was short but sweet and he endeared himself well to the lads in the dressing room.

"I’m going to talk to his manager and his physios and maybe we can bring him back. If it happens it’ll be a bonus as he’s the type of player we want.

"He has skill in abundance, an unbelievable work ethic and great attitude. He’s raw but when a player is as willing to learn as he is, it makes it easier."
