FORMER Margate and Dover defender Lee Shearer has become Welling manager Adrian Pennock's latest signing.

Shearer, who will put pen to paper on a one-year deal over the weekend, worked with Pennock at Gravesend & Northfleet.

The 27-year-old is awaiting international clearance from the Dutch FA after joining a club in Holland following his departure from Fleet last season.

He is seen as a direct replacement from James Smith, who is due to join Liam Daish at Gravesend.
