Talented Medway amateur boxer Tom Dallas has signed professional terms.

Dallas, 6ft 6in from Gillingham, has signed a three-year deal with manager Mark Roe, who has agreed a promotional deal with promoter Frank Maloney, which will see Dallas compete in five fights per year.

The heavyweight’s first five fights will consist of four three-minute rounds with the first bout scheduled to take place in September.

Dallas said: “I have had over 50 amateur fights, got to the ABA finals where I lost on points, and feel as though I’ve taken it as far as I can down the amateur route.

“I’ve turned over and am hoping to start earning some money.”

The former junior ABA champion is trained by Andy Kidd at Chatham’s St Mary’s Boxing Club.

Kidd put Dallas, pictured, in touch with Roe, who subsequently organised a meeting with Maloney.

The contract was signed last month and has left Dallas with a taste for the big time.

He added: “The aim over the first three years is to build up. After that he (Frank Maloney) wants me to fight for the Southern Area title.

“If I win that I can fight for the British Heavyweight title. If I win that I might go on and have a crack at the world.”
