Welling 2 Weymouth 0
Two goals in the first 18 minutes led Welling to an FA Trophy giantkilling on Tuesday night.
The Wings proved too good for their Blue Square Premier opponents, who were blown away in a whirlwind start.
Welling had to make a late change to their line-up after Ryan Johnson collapsed during the warm-up but the subsequent 10-minute delay failed to put them out of their stride.
They took the lead after 48 seconds when Loui Fazakerley found space in the penalty area and crossed for the unmarked Charlie Sheringham to tap in from close range.
Welling's bright start got even better after 18 minutes when Sonny Cobbs' left-wing cross was cleared only as far as Moses Ademola and his first-time shot proved too good for keeper Danny Knowles.
Producing some of their best football this season, Welling were in complete control and while the visitors hit the woodwork twice before half-time, they lacked assurance in defence.
Keeper Clark Masters touched Stuart Beavon's low drive on to the woodwork five minutes before half-time before Stephen Reed's speculative cross came back off the bar.
Lee Blackburn hit the woodwork for Welling, who continued to dominate and created the best chances. Sheringham, who won everything in the air, headed wide Blackburn's free-kick and Sanchez Ming wastefully fired wide.
Chris McPhee, who played in four different roles during the evening, scored the winning goal for Ebbsfleet in the final of this competition in May. But he had a largely frustrating game, summed up late on when his lob beat Masters but bounced up and hit the crossbar before going to safety.
Welling will travel to Hednesford in the second round on January 10.
