BROADSTAIRS remain in trouble near the foot of Shepherd Neame Kent Cricket League Division 1 after a last-over, two-wicket, defeat away to The Mote.
Scott Narraway, run out for 33, and opener Ben Futter (23) top scored in the Broadstairs total of 161-9 and then their bowlers worked hard to keep them in the game.
Chris Kidd, with 1-23 from 15 overs, and Andy Marshall (2-31 in 15) kept The Mote on a tight rein, backed up by Ashley Ellison (3-52) and Narraway (2-43, but with Ed De Lucy hitting 54, the home side won with two balls to spare.
Broadstairs remain in the bottom two and on Saturday entertain Orpington.
