Bromley 3 St Albans 4

BROMLEY missed the chance to climb into the Blue Square South play-off spots after a disappointing home defeat to lowly St Albans.

A crazy opening put paid to the Lillywhites' hopes of building on Saturday's win at Dorchester.

After Sam Wood had netted for the hosts in the third minute, the visitors hit back with three goals in quick succession.

Lee Clarke struck twice and Paul Bruce once as St Albans - with just one league win all season - found themselves 3-1 up with just seven minutes on the clock.

Francis Duku pulled one back for Bromley midway through the half, but despite the introduction of the influential Nic McDonnell after the break, the visitors were next to find the net, Hasim Deen scoring on 74 minutes.

Substitute Gareth Williams struck with three minutes left, but there was to be no comeback for the Lillywhites, who could have moved up to third had they won, but instead remain in eighth.
