Shane Byrne celebrated the 50th win of his British Superbike career on Sunday.

Champion Byrne won the second race of the triple header at Oulton Park in Cheshire.

He fought off a strong challenge from Josh Brookes to chalk up his milestone victory, with Japanese rider Ryuichi Kiyonari claiming third.

Byrne finished runner-up behind James Ellison in the opening race.

The Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki man piled on the pressure in the closing stages but had to settle for second place.

Sittingbourne rider Byrne also finished second in the final race, which was won by Australian Brookes.

The Sittingbourne rider holds a 29-point lead over Josh Brookes in the riders’ standings.
