Three generations of the same family enjoyed a superb day’s boat fishing on Sunday with young Cameron Jarvis showing Dad and Granddad how to catch cod.

Nine-year-old Cameron, from Sheerness, was on his first boat angling adventure with his dad Matthew Jarvis, a talented angler and his grandad Kevin Jarvis, one of the most accomplished boat anglers in the Southeast.

The trio were fishing on a favoured Thames Estuary mark and Cameron kept the cod on the feed for five hours. The group caught over 40 cod weighing between 3lb and 5lb, with several of the largest fish being tempted to the hook by the youngster.

*A Saturday league is being organised for teams of four freshwater anglers at Stones Lakes. Interested parties can call Dave on 01795 583366 or 01795 666555.
