GILLINGHAM will host League 1 side Colchester in the first round of next season’s Carling Cup.

The draw, made today (Friday), pairs the Gills with a team who were relegated from the Championship last season after finishing bottom.

Ties take place on the week commencing Monday, August 11. Gillingham’s League 2 fixtures are released on Monday morning.

Charlton were also handed a home Carling Cup draw with Yeovil visiting The Valley in the first round.
