TOP amateur darts players on Sheppey will get the opportunity to take on the legendary Bobby George in the spring. George will be handing out the prizes at Isle of Sheppey Winter Treble Board League presentation night on Thursday, April 4, at The Co-op Sports Club in Sheerness.
Members of the public are welcome to attend the event starting at 7.30pm. League treasuer John Fraser, who has known George since they played on the same circuit in the 1970s, said: "After presenting the prizes Bobby will play against 14 players we select from each of our divisions.
"We will also run a raffle and, if they win, people can either take the prize or play against Bobby George instead." George, 56, nicknamed Mr Glitter, is widely regarded as the most charismatic and colourful darts player of all time. He was runner-up of the Embassy world championships in 1980 and 1994 and has been crowned News Of the World champion on two occasions.
