CHARLTON signing Stephan Anderson has spoken of the influence new club-mate and fellow Dane Claus Jensen had in his decision to join the club.
The 22-year-old, hailed as the new Peter Schmeichel, became manager Alan Curbishley’s first summer signing when he agreed a £721,000 move from AB Copenhagen on Monday.
Anderson said: “I haven’t seen Charlton play as much as I would like. But I have been speaking to Claus and he told me what a great club Charlton are to play for.”
He is no stranger to the Addicks players as the club have been monitoring his progress at their Sparrows Lane training ground.
He added: “It’s going to be difficult for me because Dean Kiely is such a great goalkeeper, but I will be doing my best and hopefully one day I will break into the first team."
Curbishley said: “Stephan is considered by many to be a very exciting prospect and will bring extra competition to the goalkeeping area at the club.”
Anderson was first capped as a substitute against Spain in March.
