CHARLTON have clinched the loan signing of Chelsea's highly-rated winger Scott Sinclair who could make his debut in Saturday's match at Sheffield United.
Manager Alan Pardew's long-time pursuit of the 18-year-old ended on Thursday when the Addicks confirmed his arrival.
Loan deals last a maximum of 93 days which means Sinclair is available for the rest of the season plus the Championship promotion play-offs.
Pardew said: "Scott has signed but I'm not going to say whether he'll be in Saturday's starting line-up because I need to sleep on a number of issues.
"He's a player who will give us something different from what we have already and I believe he will become important to us in the run-in.
"He can play in three positions across the front so he's pretty versatile.
"He will bring sheer pace to the attack. That will help us, especially away from home."
Sinclair made a big impact on loan at Plymouth last season and recently returned from a spell on loan with Queens Park Rangers.
Meanwhile, Pardew threatened to overhaul his defence following Saturday's surprise 5-3 defeat at Blackpool. Anumber of issues were thrashed out at a team meeting on Thursday.
Pardew added: "I told them exactly what my feelings have been over the last four days.
"What was said will remain private between me and the squad. To say I was unhappy, to say I felt let down would be correct.
"I felt there were a couple of errors that I made in Saturday's selection and I told the players that too. I won't make those mistakes again."
