Charlton three players down for West Brom match

West Brom v Charlton

CHARLTON will be without at least three players for Saturday’s trip to fellow Championship promotion contenders West Brom.

Jonathan Fortune’s dismissal for violent conduct in Saturday’s 3-1 win against Ipswich sees him start the first of a three-match ban. Lloyd Sam’s fifth caution in the 2-0 win Cardiff means he serves a one-match suspension on Saturday while Danny Mills’ caution against Ipswich keeps him out.

Chris Powell could also miss the match after suffering suspected concussion which forced his 88th-minute substitution against Ipswich.

“Chris came off feeling a little dazed and I hope it’s nothing more than that,” said manager Alan Pardew. “I think he’ll be fine, just so long as it isn’t concussion because he’ll need a period of rest if it is.”

Grant Basey is out of the reckoning after a hernia operation that will keep him out for several weeks.

The match at The Hawthorns kicks-off at 12.45pm.
