Sheffield Wednesday v Charlton

Charlton boss Phil Parkinson has a selection dilemma ahead of Saturday’s game at Sheffield Wednesday.

He made six changes in midweek as the Addicks ended an 18-game winless streak with victory over Norwich City in their FA Cup replay.

But Parkinson now has Matthew Spring and Graeme Murty, who were both ineligible for the cup game, back in contention and loan signing Tom Soares could make his debut after his loan switch from Stoke City.

Charlton are rooted to the bottom of the Championship after last week’s defeat against fellow strugglers Nottingham Forest but their hosts are not in great form themselves- without a win since early December.

Parkinson told the Addicks’ website he was pleased at his side’s display in what was his first victory in charge.

He said: “I played a lot of the younger players but it was the strongest team I felt we could put out and they've done themselves no harm. At times we were naive as a team but the character and the spirit we showed made up for that.

“Whether it was in the league or the cup, it didn't really matter to us; we just needed to get a win. It's given everyone a lift and we're looking forward to going to Sheffield."
