FORMER Gillingham defender Adrian Pennock has attracted the interest of several clubs since he announced his retirement from full-time football.
Pennock, 31, who called time on his long fight against injuries last week, is wanted by Nationwide Conference neighbours Gravesend & Northfleet, Margate, Dover and Canvey Island.
He watched the Fleet's 4-2 home defeat by Yeovil on Saturday and afterwards had talks with club chairman Brian Kilcullen and manager Andy Ford.
"I was made most welcome at Gravesend and was treated very well," said Pennock. "I've met manager Andy Ford at his home and he has given me plenty to think about, especially an opportunity to coach at the club."
Mr Kilcullen added: "We spoke to Adrian on Saturday but we know he is in demand from other clubs."
Pennock says he will make up his mind once he has reached a settlement with Gillingham over the remainder of his contract. He made 199 Gillingham appearances after joining the club from Bournemouth in 1996.
