Sheppey under-17 captain Jamie Evans has received a county call-up.

Evans, who plays at either prop or second row, will train with Kent’s under-18 squad this week in Blackheath.

The selection comes after the Borden Grammar School pupil impressed during trials at Medway Rugby Club last week.

Around 100 hopefuls attended the trial and Minster’s Evans was one of a lucky few to get selected for a squad one year above his usual standard.
