Meanwhile, Kent began their defence of the Home Counties League with a narrow victory over Sussex on Sunday.
With four rinks playing at Tunbridge Wells and four at Horsham, Kent came away with 12 points and Sussex 8 points. This victory was mainly due to the good performance of the away team which had three winning rinks, whereas the home team had three losing rinks.
The overall shot difference was sufficient to give Kent a narrow six shot win, allowing them to pick up the extra four points for the overall win.
