Cray boss: I've never felt so low after a defeat

Kingstonian 3 - 1 Cray Wanderers

CRAY Wanderers paid the price for failing to take their chances in Saturday’s first encounter as they were bundled out of the FA Trophy in Monday’s third qualifying round replay.

The Wands, who had dominated Saturday’s 1-1 draw at Hayes Lane, were expected to win at a canter for the right to meet Conference club Canvey at Park Lane.

Instead they never recovered after being stung by two Kingstonian goals in the opening minutes of the second half.

Cray manager Ian Jenkins confessed: "I’ve never felt so low after a defeat. I will have plenty to say in training on Thursday."

Leigh Bremner opened the scoring when he gave Cray an 18th-minute lead. The first two minutes of the second half were like a bad dream for the visitors who conceded goals from Bashiri Alimi and Jon Coke.

Martyn Lee compounded Cray’s misery with a third in the 75th.

Cray: Northwood; Khan, Rawlings, Morris, Bower (Main 76), Watkins (Wood 62), Lover, Kempster Abbott (Gray 90), Bremner, Power.
Subs Not Used: Hall, Taylor.
Attendance: 264.
