Cricket club returns with Lashings fixture
CHARING Cricket Club will complete a remarkable revival when they host the star-studded Lashings World XI.
Maidstone-based Lashings were left looking for an opponent after a late fixture cancellation and the village side stepped in.
Charing were once one of the leading sides in the Kent Village League, but a lack of players meant the club was forced to fold a decade ago.
They reformed this year to play friendly fixtures - although not may of their players will have been expecting to face the likes of Aravinda de Silva, Courtney Walsh and Richie Richardson, who captains the Lashings side this year.
The game will take place at Charing's ground on Sunday June 4.
