Andrew Crofts’ Gillingham career looks over after the midfielder joined Blue Square Premier side Wrexham for the rest of the season.
The former Gills captain joined the Welsh side on loan on Tuesday after falling out of favour at his home town club.
Crofts started the season as captain of Gillingham but a loss of form saw him lose the armband and his place in the team. He was recently on loan with League 1 side Peterborough
The 23-year-old made almost 200 apperances for the Gills since progressing through the club’s youth team set-up.
Crofts, a Welsh international, links up with Wrexham manager Dean Saunders who is the national side’s assistant manager. He goes straight into the side to face Burton Albion in the league tonight.
Crofts’ season could end on a high with a trip to Wembley. Wrexham face FA Trophy holders Ebbsfleet in the quarter finals of the competition on Saturday.
