Gillingham captain Andrew Crofts looks set to receive a recall to the starting line-up after being left out for the 7-0 defeat at Shrewsbury.
Crofts missed last week’s win over Grimsby while on international duty for Wales and manager Mark Stimson admitted he didn’t want to upset anyone by breaking up a winning combination in the middle.
That left Crofts on the bench and by the time he appeared the Gills were already six goals down.
Stimson said: "If you would have left Adam Miller or Curtis Weston out after the way they played last week then they would be distraught. You might have lost them for a month or so.
"It’s a season and we’ve got 30, 40 games left. Andrew is a professional; he understood that and got on with it.
"He’s disappointed he didn’t start but he knows that the way the set-up was for Saturday if things weren’t happening there were other combinations and we could have thrown him in.
"He got on with it and when he got on he had a go. He now has a chance to start next week."
