MyFootball Club members have a Thursday deadline to renew their membership of the ground-breaking scheme.
A year ago the internet-based group took over Ebbsfleet in a £635,000 deal that attracted worldwide publicity.
Memberships of 25,000 MyFC owners are now up for renewal and their decisions will have a major impact on Fleet's future.
MyFC founder Will Brooks is hoping 20,000 people sign up for another 12 months. There are an additional 7,000 members whose subscriptions are up for renewal at various times during the year.
Members' money in the first year was used to buy the club and clear debt, and a total of 19,000 renewals are needed to cover Fleet's £500,000 annual losses.
If renewal levels are low it would mean major cutbacks but if a lot of people stay involved for another year then most of the money can now be used for investment in the club and players.
It has been a memorable year for the club on the pitch during which they won the FA Trophy at Wembley for the first time.
Off the pitch, members have decided such things as freezing season ticket prices, setting the playing budget and holding free admission to a game, as well voting on the buying and selling of players.
Each week they also vote on whether to pick the team but so far have always opted to allow manager Liam Daish to select it.
