Phil Parkinson says his side face three huge games

Charlton v Swansea

Charlton make their debut at Swansea’s Liberty Stadium on Saturday in what manager Phil Parkinson believes will be the first of three matches that will define their season as they scrap for survival at the foot of the Coca-Cola Championship.

The Addicks return to The Valley next Tuesday to face Doncaster and entertain Watford the following Saturday.

Conscious that the club are fast running out of games to save themselves from League 1 football next season, Parkinson said: “These are three huge games which will have a bearing on where we finish the season.

“I’m not one for publicly setting targets but in my own mind I know what we need from these three games.”

Looking ahead to the club’s first return to Swansea after a 25-year absence, Parkinson added: “We’re up for the battle and will have a go because it’s so important that we build on the improvement we’ve shown.”

China captain Zheng Zhi has still not satisfied Parkinson of his fitness after the manager recently stepped up training to sharpen the condition of his players.
