Gillingham defender Danny Cullip is expected to return to the side for Saturday’s match against Carlisle and manager Mark Stimson can’t wait.
Stimson felt his side missed Cullip’s present at Port Vale and will bring the experienced centre-half straight back into the side after his brief rest because of a hamstring injury.
“When he doesn’t play we don’t have enough people giving information out and being vocal,” said Stimson.
“Danny is brilliant at that and that’s why he’s a major player for us. He couldn’t play because of his hamstring and I thought we were a bit quiet.
"We didn’t want to give anything away at the start of the second half against Port Vale and the second goal was a bit cheap for me.
“A big boot from their keeper and then there was a wonder strike at the end of it. If Danny would have been there it wouldn’t have happened.
"We’ll have to deal with that because Danny might not be fit for every game for the remainder of the season.
“I think he’ll be back on Saturday and then we’ll have to address it after that because we’ve got Luton at home on the Tuesday.”
