Charlton v Yeovil

MANAGER Alan Curbishley has promised Charlton will be every bit as painstaking in their preparation for the FA Cup, fourth round, tie against Yeovil as they were with third round opponents Rochdale, who were watched five times.

Yeovil, renowned FA Cup giant-killers from Coca-Cola League 2, take on Premier League Charlton at The Valley on Saturday, January 29, with Curbishley warning the Glovers have everything to gain and nothing to lose.

He said: "Two tapes featuring Yeovil are on their way to us and we will be every bit as thorough in our homework as we were with Rochdale. There were plenty of upsets in the third round but the one that went unnoticed was Yeovil's 3-0 win at Rotherham, which was a great result.

"It's occupied people's minds here so we know we'll have our work cut out. Yeovil are top of their division, they've had a great couple of years and seriously look as though they're going up.

"They will come here with the attitude that they have everything to gain and nothing to lose on what is sure to be a great day out for the club and their supporters. I know their manager Gary Johnson and I know he will be looking forward to it.

"But we've got a home tie and we can ask for nothing more than that."

The tie presents Charlton midfielder Danny Murphy with the opportunity to renew an old acquaintance with Yeovil whom he scored against last season for former club Liverpool in their 2-0 third round success at Huish Park.
