Danger man Kedwell back for Wings

Welling United v Lewes

WELLING manager Adrian Pennock welcomes back striker Danny Kedwell for the home game against Lewes on Saturday.

Kedwell was left out of the side that lost at Weymouth last weekend as depleted Welling went down 2-1 at the title favourites.

However, Pennock insisted: "It was my decision to leave Kedwell out because I didn’t want to lose him long term. Danny wanted to play but he felt pain in his groin and I’d rather he miss one match than be out for three or four weeks."

But with James Pinnock and Lee Gledhill long-term casualties, Pennock revealed that he is hoping to make a loan signing.

"I’m looking to bring someone in but I’m keeping it close to my chest," said Pennock.

"Steve Perkins, Adrian Clarke and Barry Ashby should all be back in the next fortnight or so but I would prefer another body for the Lewes match."

The Wings are hoping for a bumper crowd against Lewes as third entertain second in Conference South.

"The fans were great against Farnborough and really lifted the team last week," said Pennock.

"They got behind us from the first whistle and we need them against Lewes. This is the last of the so-called big teams that we have to play and we know that we’ve got nothing to fear."
