Gillingham have confirmed the departure of Charlie Daniels.

The 22-year-old’s loan deal expired on Saturday and he opted for a return to his Premiership side Tottenham rather than extend his stay at Priestfield.

Daniels returns to a struggling Spurs team and will hope to fight for a first team spot there after impressing during his brief spell at Gillingham.

Gills manager Mark Stimson said: “I’m disappointed that he’s decided to go back to Tottenham but I thank him for his time here.”

Daniels made five league appearances for Gillingham.
