Lewes 2 Welling 1

ADRIAN PENNOCK first game as Welling manager ended in defeat as Lewes staged a second half comeback at The Dripping Pan on Saturday.

As expected, Pennock handed debuts to keeper Danny Knowles, Chris Moore and Matt Lovell while Nick Harrhy came on as a late substitute.

However, his selection was limited as Ian Wiles was ruled out through illness and Lee Spiller played despite suffering from flu.

Welling took the lead six minutes before half-time through leading scorer Paul Booth.

But two goals in nine second half minutes from captain Barry Moore and Jay Lovett ended Welling's resistance.
