Gillingham v Cheltenham
MANAGER Ronnie Jepson says he will be looking for improved defending when Gillingham host Cheltenham at Priestfield this Saturday.
Jepson has told fans not to let Tuesday night’s capitulation to Leyton Orient cloud the strides his team have made in recent weeks.
The Gills threw away a 3-0 lead in the last 13 minutes at Brisbane Road and ended up drawing the game 3-3. Three days earlier they lost 4-1 at Oldham.
Cheltenham are just outside the League 1 relegation zone having lost five in a row but Jepson knows it won’t be an easy fixture.
He stressed: "They are in a bad run at the moment and will come here desperate for points. That can make things difficult.
"But if we did manage to go three goals up I wouldn’t have any worries about holding on to the lead. We have learnt our lesson."
