DEFENDER John Guest has been the latest casualty as Welling boss Adrian Pennock continues to reshape his squad.
Guest has signed for Ryman League Division 1 South Dartford on a one-month loan with a view to a permanent switch.
The defender, who has spent most of the season at right-back, has failed to live up to his reputation since joining on an 18-month deal from Folkestone midway through last season.
Pennock said: "John wanted to go on the transfer list. He told me it was because he had never been dropped before in his career.
"Dartford were close to signing him but John pulled out five minutes before the deadline."
The departure of Guest has meant that Pennock can add to his squad in the shape of striker Steve Harper, who joined from Thurrock.
Having finished top scorer for the Essex outfit last season, Harper has struggled for form this year having been playing out of position in midfield.
Pennock said: "I’ve done my homework on Steve and I’m delighted to get him. He has a great touch and great awareness.
"He is not a replacement for Danny Kedwell, I want them to play together and with Che Stadhart as well."
