WELLING'S FA Cup first round tie at Huddersfield Town has been switched to Sunday, November 6, kick-off 1pm.

The match was originally due to take place on November 5 but the clubs have been forced to move the game on police advice.

Various demonstrations are taking place in Keighley, Yorkshire, on November 5 and, although Leeds United are being allowed to stage a Championship match, other fixtures are likely to be switched so as not to stretch police resources.

Welling general manager Graham Hobbins said: "Unfortunately it's a non-football decision which is out of our hands. I'm not happy about the change. Every player wants to play the first round of the FA Cup at 3pm on a Saturday unless it has been switched for television coverage.

"It will inconvenience our supporters and might cost the club financially but it won't take any of the gloss off the day. It's still going to be a great day for everyone at the club."

The decision is likely to reduce the number of travelling supporters. The Wings are still finalising coach details and final plans will be released later this week.
