Kent batsman Joe Denly will join the England one-day squad ahead of their three-match series against Ireland.
Denly played in the first Test against West Indies at the Ageas Bowl but was overlooked for the two subsequent matches at Old Trafford.
He’ll join his county captain Sam Billings as part of the training group preparing for white-ball cricket against Ireland which begins on Thursday, July 30.
Billings has taken part in a couple of intra-squad matches at the Ageas Bowl, the second and final one taking place on Friday.
Denly will return to the Southampton venue on Monday after being one of five players to have left the bio-secure Test squad bubble in Manchester.
England’s third and final Test match against West Indies started on Friday at Old Trafford but doesn’t feature Kent opener Zak Crawley, the man who had been preferred in the team ahead of Denly in the second Test. Crawley remains with the Test squad as a back-up.
