Charlton boss Phil Parkinson says he doesn’t believe striker Chris Dickson will return to Gillingham.
The frontman has handed in a transfer request at The Valley and has been linked with a return to the club where he scored 11 goals in 14 games during a loan spell last season.
Gills boss Mark Stimson says he would like to bring the 24-year-old back, and was considering a new loan move.
But he could play for the Championship side in their game at Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday and Parkinson does not think he will drop down two divisions.
He told the Addicks website: “No one would be more pleased than me to see Chris Dickson score a goal and push himself into my thinking," stated Parkinson. "That's what we're looking for from Chris.
"Gillingham have rung me but Chris has turned down loan moves to League One clubs, and as much as he enjoyed his time at Gillingham, with the greatest respect, I don't think he's going to go back to League Two.
"He has set his sights on a top League One club or a lower Championship club. We have had calls from League One clubs about loan moves but he's decided not to go there."
