A MISSED chance at slip was costly for Kent as Warwickshire reached 144 without loss before the rain arrived at Beckenham.
Visiting opening batsmen Michael Powell (50) and Mark Wagh (64) batted on after lunch but both received a let off along the way.
Wagh went to his 50 with a top-edged pull off Ben Trott that just eluded the lunge of Martin Saggers at long leg.
Powell was on 35 when he received a life when Matthew Walker downed a regulation catch at second slip, Trott again being the unlucky bowler.
Powell went on to reach his 50 from 143 balls and with six fours, but moments later the players were forced from the fielkd after 45 overs when rain returned to the Worsley Bridge Road ground.
