Kent pair June Banks and Katie Henrick will compete for honours at the Women’s World Snooker Championship which starts on Saturday.
Henrick, from Bickley, lost last year’s final to Reanne Evans and heads to Cambridge knowing her Dudley-based rival will be the one to beat.
Henrick said: “We all know that if we want to beat Reanne we’ve got to play well. We’ve got to be going there with our best game.”
Orpington’s Banks, ranked third in the world, also knows Evans – the world No.1 – will take some stopping. “She’s the one to beat,” said Banks. “The World Championship seems to bring out the best in her.”
