Dynamos keep play-off dream alive

INVICTA Dynamos kept their chances of a play-off final appearance alive with a 4-3 victory against Peterborough Islanders at the Ice Bowl on Sunday evening.

Icing second choice netminder Glen Jackson and missing the services of eight regulars, the short-benched Dynamos took the lead in the second minute through Peter Carey.

The Islanders struck back to lead 2-1 at the first intermission before top-scorer Andy Smith equalised midway through the second period.

Peterborough led again going into the third period but Smith, helped twice by Elliot Andrews, struck back for the home side to complete his hat-trick and earn the team a precious two points.

After Streatham and Cardiff halved their weekend series, the play-off south group is wide open.

A win for Invicta at Streatham next weekend would dramatically increase Dynamos’ hopes of an appearance at the ENIHL season finale in Coventry.
