Invicta Dynamos boss Kevin Parrish is just two players away from completing his squad for the new English National (South B) Ice Hockey League season.
The return of regulars Peter Carey, Matt Drake and Anthony Leone as assistant captain has boosted Parrish’s squad but it is the signatures of defender Ryan Giles and centre Laurence Billing which have caught the eye.
Parrish said: "Ryan has been with us for three seasons and has just turned 18. It was possibly too early for him last year but with the restructuring of the league, this year is a perfect time for him to get on the ice and prove himself.
"He wants to attract the attentions of bigger clubs - and he will - but if I can have him this year and get the best out of him, I’ll be happy. Hopefully he’ll have the season of his life."
Billing, 19, has been out of the game for two years but has returned with a hunger that Parrish happily recognises.
He said: "What Laurence has, aside from good hands and a good shot, is the glint in his eye of someone with real quality, potential and professionalism.
"At 17 and 18 years old, a lot of players lose interest and believe they have the right to wear the shirt without working hard but you can tell Laurence has true hunger.
"There are only a couple of places left in the roster and I am speaking to some players over the next few days, so those places will soon be filled."
