Welling v Cambridge City

WELLING'S players will have an early start ahead of their Blue Square South clash against Cambridge on Saturday.

The Wings will have an early morning training session with new manager Andy Ford before aiming to collect their first win in 11 matches.

Ford said: "The players are not going to be too happy because I've brought them in early before the game.

"I'm going to take a session so we can work on our shape.

"But I'm not there to make them happy, I want to get a result."

The new Welling boss admits he knows little about Cambridge but respects the work of their manager, Gary Roberts.

"I know Gary well, he has done a good job with the finances he has to work with and always gets a good side out," said Ford.

"The Welling fans are a good crowd and I know that if they see the players giving more than 100 per cent then they will get behind them."

Defender Chris Moore (suspension) returns to the squad but Ford will keep his selection a closely-guarded secret until before kick-off.
