IFFY ONUORA is back at Priestfield for a third time after being appointed first team coach.

The popular 39-year-old enjoyed two spells with the club as a striker between 1996 and 2002 and he will be back to assist current manager Ronnie Jepson for the new season.

Onuora said: "I can't wait to be involved again. I've fond memories of Gillingham and it's a club with ambition."

Onuora and Jepson – who was also a striker during his playing days – were team-mates at Huddersfield during the 1993/94 season.

He will link up with the Gills boss and his assistant Mick Docherty on the coaching staff when the team return from their summer break on July 5.
